The Ròm Tambú Store in Rif Fort is a place to get to know a rum with a Curaçao story behind it. Its name draws on Tambú, the island’s tradition of music, dance and expression, and the rum itself is blended and bottled here. The blend brings together rums from Guatemala, Barbados and the Dominican Republic, with notes of vanilla and honey and a lightly smoky finish.
Each bottle comes with a miniature chapi, inspired by the agricultural tool that’s also used as a percussion instrument in Tambú music. You can use it to cut the bottle’s seal, then keep it as a key ring, a little reminder of the island long after the rum is gone. You’ll find the shop in Rif Fort Village, easy to include in a walk through Otrobanda.
