Known for being the oldest restaurant in Curaçao, Jaanchie’s (pronounced “yawn-cheese”) is located at the northwestern point of the island, on an unnamed road just west of Jie Lie convenience store, between the Westpunt G and Westpunt E roads.
It offers traditional Caribbean dishes of freshly caught Fish, Shrimp, Beef Stews...with sides of Rice and Beans, Plantains, or Fries. If you’re feeling adventurous, try the Goat or Iguana Stew! The atmosphere is cozy, the staff are very friendly, and Jaanchie’s comes highly recommended by just about every local you’ll meet.
It's one of those places that has become part of the island's story, where people come not only for the food, but for the experience and the warm Curaçao hospitality.
