The Pastechi House is one of those little Aruban stops everyone ends up at sooner or later. It’s right in the center of Oranjestad, and the line outside in the mornings tells you everything you need to know. This is where you go for fresh, hot pastechis golden fried pastries filled with cheese, meat, tuna, or veggies - the island’s favorite breakfast-on-the-go.
Inside, it’s simple and cheerful, with a takeout counter, a few small tables, and the smell of dough frying in the air. The staff moves fast, but they’re friendly, and they’ve got the routine down perfectly. They also serve smoothies, fresh juices, and a few other local snacks, all made right there.
It’s one of those no-fuss places that’s become part of daily life in town - quick, affordable, and authentically Aruban. Go early - they sell out of the popular fillings fast.
